Sitting on a tranquil, hilly area in full view of the Seremban Lake, Negeri Sembilan’s Masjid Negeri was built in 1966 and officiated in November 1967 by the state’s Yang Di-Pertuan Besar at that time, Tuanku Jaafar Al-Haj Ibni Almarhum Tuanku Abdul Rahman. The decision to build a state mosque came about after realising that Seremban’s Masjid Jamek was no longer adequate to accommodate the growing number of worshippers.
